A Day by the Sea — Shichirigahama

It was a beautiful summer morning when Fuka decided to leave Tokyo for a day by the sea. There was no particular reason for the trip and nothing special waiting for her at Shichirigahama. She simply felt like getting away for a while, so she packed her camera and a few things into her backpack and took the bus towards the coast. She enjoyed travelling that way when she wasn’t in a hurry, watching the city gradually change through the window as the streets became quieter and the sea slowly appeared in the distance. When she finally reached Shichirigahama, Fuka stopped for a moment to admire the view. The sky was perfectly clear and the sunlight made the water sparkle all the way to the horizon. It was exactly the kind of summer day she had hoped for. She found a place on the beach, changed into her swimsuit and allowed herself to enjoy the morning without thinking about work or anything else waiting for her back in Tokyo. Here is the scene → [view post] After a while, as usual, her camera ended up hanging from her shoulder again and she began walking along the shore, photographing the ordinary details of a day at the beach: families enjoying the sunshine, couples walking near the water, children playing in the sand and people relaxing beneath the blue sky. She had come there to rest, but Fuka could never completely stop looking at the world through her camera. Here is the scene → [view post]

Eventually, she put the camera aside and went into the sea. The waves were gentle, but she had fun letting them carry her back and forth, laughing when one reached her unexpectedly. After swimming, she returned to the beach, bought an ice cream and sat near the shore, where she began looking at the shells scattered across the sand. Some were smooth and almost perfect, while others had clearly been shaped by a long journey through the sea. Here is the scene → [view post] She picked up a few and eventually decided to keep one as a small reminder of the day. Later, while sitting on her towel, she watched some children building sandcastles. They worked seriously for a few minutes, watched their creations collapse and then started again without the slightest disappointment. Fuka smiled as she watched them and thought that perhaps adults sometimes forget how to enjoy something simply because it is enjoyable, without worrying about whether it will last or whether it has any real purpose. Here is the scene → [view post]

As the afternoon slowly turned into evening, the beach became quieter and the light warmer. Fuka packed her camera, towel and the few shells she had collected into her backpack and took one last look at the sea before leaving. Here is the scene → [view post] She was tired, her skin still warm from the sun and probably carrying more sand in her belongings than she would have liked, but she felt wonderfully relaxed. On the bus back to Tokyo, she found a seat by the window and watched the coastline disappear as the city gradually returned around her. Nothing extraordinary had happened that day. There had been no great adventure, no unexpected encounter and no important discovery. There had simply been sunshine, the sea, her camera, an ice cream, a few shells and several hours in which she could forget everything else. Yet as Fuka rested her head against the window and smiled quietly to herself, she realised that perhaps those were the days worth remembering most. Sometimes, all a person needs is a bus, a sunny beach and a little time that belongs entirely to themselves.

A Quiet Day at Aoba Park

Some days do not need a particular plan. They simply need a camera, a little free time and somewhere peaceful to go.

That morning, Fuka carefully prepared her camera before leaving home. She checked the battery, made sure everything was ready and packed the equipment she would need for the day. Here is the scene → [view post] She had been wanting to spend some time outdoors, taking photographs without rushing from one place to another, so she decided to visit Aoba Park.

She took the bus and watched Tokyo pass by through the window as she made her way there. Here is the scene → [view post] When she finally arrived, Fuka stepped into the park with a cheerful smile. The atmosphere was already different from the busy streets of the city. There was more space, more greenery and a pleasant sense of calm.

It did not take long for her to find her first subject. Beneath a tree, a small squirrel was quietly eating, apparently completely unconcerned about the photographer watching from a short distance away. Fuka slowly raised her camera and captured the moment. Here is the scene → [view post] A little further along, she came across four more squirrels, much less shy than she had expected. They happily approached her when she offered them some food, turning what had started as a simple photography trip into an unexpectedly charming encounter.

Fuka continued walking through the park, stopping from time to time to photograph the trees and the details of the landscape. She enjoyed looking at the different shapes of the branches and the way the light moved through the leaves. There was no need to hurry. For once, she could simply follow whatever caught her eye. Here is the scene → [view post]

Around lunchtime, she found a quiet bench and sat down to enjoy the bento she had prepared at home. She ate slowly, surrounded by trees and the gentle sounds of the park. It was one of those simple moments that can easily be overlooked, but for Fuka it was exactly what she had been looking for. Here is the scene → [view post]

As the afternoon passed, the light gradually began to change. The sun moved lower in the sky and the park became even more peaceful. People were still walking around, sitting on benches and enjoying the last hours of daylight, but everything seemed slower and quieter beneath the warm evening light. Here is the scene → [view post]

Fuka took one last series of photographs before leaving. Among them was a wide view of the park at sunset, with the trees and paths illuminated by the fading sunlight. Looking at the photograph on her camera, she felt satisfied. It was not necessarily the most spectacular image she had ever taken, but it captured exactly what she had felt that day.

Her camera was safely beside her, filled with photographs of trees, squirrels, sunset and all the small details she had discovered along the way.

Sometimes, a good photograph is not about finding something extraordinary.

Sometimes, it is simply about slowing down long enough to notice something beautiful.

A Quiet Day Along the River

On this peaceful morning, Fuka decided to slow down and enjoy the quiet rhythm of everyday life. Before leaving her apartment, she spent some time practicing yoga, letting the gentle movements and calm breathing prepare her for the day ahead. Here is the scene → [view post]

With the morning routine complete, she turned her attention to the small collection of plants that brighten her home. Carefully checking each leaf and watering those that needed it, Fuka treated them with the same patience and attention she often dedicates to her photography.

Once outside, she wandered through the neighborhood without any particular destination in mind. Along the way, she stopped at one of Japan’s familiar vending machines to buy a refreshing drink before continuing her leisurely walk. Here is the scene → [view post]

Eventually, the river drew her in. Finding a quiet place along the waterfront, Fuka paused to enjoy her drink while watching the gentle flow of the water and the peaceful movement of people passing by. It was one of those moments that required no schedule and no purpose beyond simply being present. Here is the scene → [view post]

As expected, her camera was never far away. The soft reflections dancing across the river caught her attention, and she quietly captured another small fragment of Tokyo’s everyday beauty. Here is the scene → [view post]

Continuing her walk, Fuka noticed a narrow alley tucked between the surrounding buildings. Curious as always, she stepped inside, discovering one of those charming streets that seem untouched by the hurried pace of the modern city. Here is the scene → [view post]

At the end of the alley, an old neighborhood café welcomed her with its warm atmosphere. Here is the scene → [view post] Drawn in by its traditional appearance, she entered and took a seat by the window. The elderly owner greeted her kindly before serving a simple meal and a refreshing drink, adding another quiet memory to the day. Here is the scene → [view post]

While enjoying her meal, Fuka watched the life of the neighborhood unfold beyond the café window. There was nothing extraordinary happening outside, yet the peaceful scenery perfectly reflected the feeling of the day itself.

Days like this rarely become headlines or unforgettable adventures. Yet they quietly remind us that happiness often lives in ordinary moments: a slow morning, healthy routines, a peaceful walk, the kindness of strangers, and the comforting atmosphere of places that continue to preserve their own little stories.

Through Fuka’s eyes, even the simplest day becomes another reason to appreciate the quiet beauty that can still be found throughout Tokyo.

A Small Moment #9

For Fuka, photography had never been about chasing extraordinary moments. The true challenge was discovering beauty in the places and moments that most people passed by without a second glance.

On a quiet afternoon, she wandered through the streets of Tokyo with her camera in hand, letting curiosity guide her steps instead of following a destination. Every neighborhood seemed to offer something worth remembering, no matter how ordinary it appeared at first glance.

She paused in front of a small convenience store, where customers came and went as they always did. There was nothing unusual about the scene, yet the warm colors, the familiar signs, and the rhythm of everyday life perfectly captured the atmosphere of the city she loved. Here is the scene → [view post]

A little farther along, two elderly women rode past on their bicycles, chatting and laughing together as if they had followed the same route for years. Their effortless smiles spoke of countless shared memories, reminding Fuka that even the simplest routines could become precious with time. Here is the scene → [view post]

Before heading home, she discovered a narrow residential street lined with lush green plants spilling from gardens and flowerpots. Hidden away from the busiest avenues, it felt like a small oasis where nature and the city quietly coexisted. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating delicate patterns on the pavement, and for a moment, Tokyo seemed to slow down. Here is the scene → [view post]

As she reviewed the photographs later that evening, Fuka smiled. None of them depicted famous landmarks or spectacular events, yet together they told an honest story about the city. Sometimes, the soul of a place reveals itself not through its most celebrated sights, but through the quiet moments that unfold every single day.

The Mysterious Woman

Fuka‘s day began on a cheerful note. She woke up in a good mood as the morning sunlight gently filled her apartment in Tokyo. After enjoying a quiet breakfast, she settled onto the sofa with a book, looking forward to a few peaceful moments of relaxation. Here is the scene → [view post]

While she was absorbed in her reading, something suddenly caught her attention. The shadow of a fox appeared on the wall. Its silhouette was so clear that it almost looked real. Fuka carefully looked around the room, trying to find what could have cast such a strange shadow, but nothing seemed capable of creating it. A few moments later, the shadow vanished without a trace.

The following day, back at work among old documents and archived photographs, Fuka tried to focus on her tasks. Yet her thoughts kept returning to that mysterious shadow. The more she searched for a logical explanation, the stronger the feeling grew that it had not been a simple trick of the light. Here is the scene → [view post]

That evening, as she walked home, she noticed a woman standing motionless on a street corner. She was dressed entirely in black, and a face mask concealed most of her features. The stranger seemed to be quietly watching the people passing by without moving an inch. Fuka slowed her pace for a moment, but when she looked in the woman’s direction again, she had disappeared.

The next morning, during her subway ride, Fuka felt a sudden chill. Sitting a few seats behind her was the very same woman. She wore the same black clothes and the same face mask. Fuka tried not to glance back too often, telling herself it had to be nothing more than a coincidence. Even so, the woman’s presence filled her with an unsettling feeling she could not ignore. Later that day, while walking through the city, Fuka met Sayuri. After greeting each other, she told her everything: the fox’s shadow, the woman dressed in black, and the strange encounter on the subway. Sayuri listened carefully, trying to reassure her by offering logical explanations, though none of them truly convinced Fuka. Here is the scene → [view post]

What neither of them realized was that, not far away, someone was quietly watching them. The woman dressed in black remained hidden among the crowd, carefully observing every move they made without drawing attention to herself.

After saying goodbye to Sayuri, Fuka stepped into a small café and ordered a cup of coffee. Sitting by the window, she absentmindedly stared into her cup while reflecting on everything that had happened over the past two days. A mysterious shadow. A stranger who kept appearing. And an unsettling feeling that someone was watching her. Here is the scene → [view post]

Perhaps they were only coincidences.

Or perhaps someone had already begun writing the first chapter of a mystery that was about to change her life.

Memories from the Early Days

As the weeks passed, Fuka‘s world slowly began to take shape.

Not every image published during that period was part of a specific narrative sequence. Many simply captured small moments of everyday life, helping to define the atmosphere and personality of the character.

Some showed walks through the streets of Tokyo, while others portrayed quiet moments or brief scenes from daily life. They were simple images, created without the intention of telling a particular story, yet they still conveyed the spirit of the project’s early days.

The images collected in this article belong to that period. Although they are not connected by a common plot, together they help portray the peaceful and everyday atmosphere that would accompany Fuka from her very first steps.

Sometimes, it is the simplest memories that leave the most lasting impression.

Below is a small sequence of images related to the office work: image 1, image 2 and image 3.

A Weekend with Fuka

The narrative phase began on March 28, 2026, with the publication of a simple sequence portraying a peaceful weekend in Fuka’s life.

On Saturday morning, Fuka met her friends Kyoka and Sayuri in central Tokyo. They did not have any particular plans; they simply wanted to spend a few hours together, strolling through the city and following their curiosity wherever it led them.

The three friends spent the morning browsing colorful shop windows and exploring busy stores. Sayuri, always energetic and spontaneous, was usually the first to stop whenever something caught her attention, while Kyoka carefully observed every detail with her more thoughtful nature. Fuka enjoyed following her friends, sharing laughter and lighthearted conversations along the way.

After several hours of shopping, they decided to stop for a meal together. Sitting around a table, they spent their lunch chatting without any hurry. It was precisely these simple moments, filled with friendship and serenity, that made the day special.

On Sunday, however, Fuka chose to spend some time enjoying a peaceful walk surrounded by nature.

For this reason, she visited Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, one of Tokyo’s most beautiful parks. As soon as she passed through its gates, the fast pace of the city seemed to fade away, replaced by a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Walking along the garden’s paths, Fuka admired the green trees, the carefully maintained lawns, and the many visitors enjoying the pleasant weather. Some walked slowly through the grounds, while others sat reading or resting beneath the shade of the trees. Everywhere, there was a comforting sense of peace.

During her walk, Fuka decided to take a short break. She found a bench in a quiet area of the garden and sat down to enjoy a simple onigiri she had brought with her. As she watched the scenery and the people passing nearby, she allowed herself to be immersed in the tranquil atmosphere of the park.

With this final moment of quiet reflection, the simple five-image sequence came to an end. It had been created to convey a feeling of happiness, harmony, and tranquility—capturing the beauty of an ordinary weekend in Tokyo.

Approaching the Narrative Phase

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the early stages of this project was telling the story of the small moments that made up Fuka’s everyday life.

It was not necessary to rely on major events or extraordinary situations to create a story. Sometimes, a morning at the office, a walk through the streets of Tokyo, or a few quiet minutes spent at home while the afternoon light streamed through the window were enough. It was precisely these simple moments that made a character feel alive and believable.

Over time, Fuka shared workdays, photographs taken during her urban explorations, visits to cafés, train journeys, and small moments of domestic tranquility with her followers. Each image became a fragment of her daily life, a way of observing the world through her eyes.

However, during the final ten days of March 2026, something began to change. The project gradually started moving in a different direction. The images were no longer simply isolated snapshots; they began to connect with one another through narrative sequences.

This evolution opened up new possibilities. Instead of telling a single moment, it became possible to follow Fuka through multiple consecutive scenes: watching a situation unfold, showing emotions developing over time, and building small narrative arcs capable of extending across several days.

Looking for a Story

Originally posted on Instagram → [view post]

As the first followers slowly began to arrive, I found myself asking a simple question: what story did I really want to tell?

At that stage, the Fuka project was still in its early days. Images were being published regularly, ideas were taking shape, and new characters were appearing. Yet the overall plot remained uncertain. I had several pieces of a puzzle, but I still didn’t know exactly what the final picture would look like.

Rather than forcing a direction, I decided to leave room for inspiration. Sometimes creative projects need time to grow naturally, and I hoped that sooner or later the right idea would arrive. Here is an example → [view post]

Even without a clear storyline, a few important pillars were already supporting the world of Fuka.

The first was Fuka herself. From the beginning, she was imagined as a young woman with a passion for photography, someone who enjoyed observing the world around her and capturing small moments through her camera. Photography was not simply a hobby; it was the lens through which she experienced life. Here is an example → [view post]

The second pillar was the friendship between Fuka, Kyoka, and Sayuri. The three characters quickly became the emotional center of the project. Their different personalities created opportunities for conversations, shared experiences, and future adventures.

Another important element was mystery. I knew that I wanted the story to contain unanswered questions and hidden truths. At the time, however, this idea was still evolving. I could feel that mystery would eventually become an important part of the narrative, but I had not yet discovered its final form.

Below is a small sequence of images related to the mystery: image 1, image 2 and image 3.

The fourth pillar was the connection with contemporary Japan. From the beginning, I wanted Fuka’s world to feel alive and connected to reality. Seasonal events, daily life, cultural traditions, and even sporting events taking place in modern Japan could become part of the narrative, helping to create a world that felt authentic and familiar.

Originally posted on Instagram → [view post]

As I continued exploring different possibilities, another piece was added to the puzzle.

A new character began appearing in some images: Tetsuya.

At first, his role was not fully defined. He was simply another presence within Fuka’s world. Over time, however, Tetsuya would become much more important. His arrival opened the door to new relationships, new emotions, and eventually a romantic dimension that would add another layer to the story.

The destination was still unclear, but the foundations were slowly taking shape.

The First Mini Story

During the early days of the project, most of Fuka‘s images were created as standalone moments. Each picture told its own small story, capturing a feeling, a place, or a simple moment from her life. One image was usually enough to tell everything I wanted to share.

That changed on March 15.

For the first time, I experimented with a very short visual story told across three separate posts published on the same day. It was a simple sequence: Fuka visited a park with her camera, spent some time photographing small birds, and later showed her pictures to a group of children who were curious to see what she had captured.

Originally posted on Instagram → [view post]

Looking back, it was a very small story, but it represented an important step. Instead of presenting a single moment, I was now connecting multiple moments together and allowing a narrative to unfold over time.

Compared to today’s stories, the sequence was still quite simple. The characters were less developed, the narrative was shorter, and the storytelling techniques were still evolving. Yet it introduced something new: movement, progression, and a sense that one event could naturally lead to another.

In many ways, that three-post sequence was the first glimpse of the storytelling style that would later become a defining part of Fuka’s world. It was not yet the rich and interconnected narrative that exists today, but it marked the beginning of a new direction for the project.

Sometimes the most important changes start with something very small. For Fuka, that first mini story was one of those moments.

The First Days of Fuka

Looking back at the first posts, everything feels distant and strangely simple.

At the time, there was no clear direction.
No real story.
Just fragments — streets, lights, quiet rooms, passing thoughts.

Fuka was still undefined, almost like a shadow moving through Tokyo without knowing where to stop.

The images were more generic, the atmosphere uncertain, and yet… something was already there.
A certain silence.
A certain way of observing small details.

Maybe every story begins like this: without structure, without answers, with only a vague feeling that something important is waiting somewhere ahead.

Looking at those early posts now feels a little embarrassing, but also strangely comforting.
They remind me that even unfinished things can carry sincerity.

And perhaps that is where Fuka truly started.
